Nestled in its own valley, Walnut Tree Farm sits in an idyllic rural setting, but is within easy reach of the M4, Cardiff and the Severn Bridge. We have two spacious bedrooms on offer, The Magnolia Room which can be configured as a twin or a super-king and The Blue Room with a super-king and a separate sofa-bed. The comfortable bathroom has a deep bath and luxurious power shower. This is our family home, the heart of the house originating from the 16th Century. Ours is a traditional B & B offering peaceful nights and superb breakfasts served in our farmhouse kitchen where we offer continental or full breakfasts using eggs from our own chickens. The house is deep in the countryside, and access is via a long, single-track lane. We have wireless internet connection throughout the house. * Feather duvets and pillows (non-feather available on request) * Large soft towels *Radio in bedrooms * Tea/coffee trays * Delicious farmhouse breakfast * Off-street parking and lock up shed for bicycles * Private grounds * Village church and pub within walking distance
Robert was brought up at Walnut Tree Farm. He and Joanna moved back to the house in 2010 after travelling the world for most of their married life. We love having people come to share this very special place!
This really is a unique place to stay. It is a truly rural setting in a beautiful, peaceful valley with wonderful views - we can't see another house from where we live. And yet we are just minutes from major roads and rail networks: Cardiff (21 miles), Cwmbran railway or bus station, with free parking (5 miles), the Severn Bridge (20 miles) as well as the picturesque towns of Usk (7 miles), Abergavenny (15 miles), Monmouth (20 miles) and Chepstow (24 miles). We are in the heart of Gwent, with easy access to the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons, renowned foody pubs and tourist attractions like Llangedfedd Reservoir and Big Pit. And if all that is too much for you, the Farmer's Arms in Llandegfedd is just 20 minutes' walk across the fields, or 5 minutes in the car - and they cook some of the best steaks in the county! There are plenty of pubs that offer good food to suit all tastes, but it is advisable to book in advance at some of the more popular places. We recommend: The Farmers Arms, Llandegfedd The Carpenters Arms, Coed y Paen The White Hart, Llangibby The Greyhound, Llantrisant The Walnut Tree, Abergavenny The Newbridge on Usk
