Information about the host

The Ash B&B is a beautiful converted 19th Century Barn set in the Broads National park. Catfield is a quiet village with a local pub & shop. We have a great knowledge of the surrounding area. The main bedroom has a luxury 6' bed (or twin 3') bed. A small single additional bed if required. Also a private lounge with a sumptuous king sized sofa bed should there be more than 3 guests (an extra charge will be applied for more guests) A private bathroom with an over bath rain shower. A second shower room would also be available should there be more than 3 guests. The lounge opens to the patio as does a door from the dining area. We also offer cream teas, cakes and dinner (prices on request).

My partner David and myself retired to Norfolk in 2018. David has been coming to The Norfolk Broads since he was a child and introduced me to the beautiful rivers and landscapes about 12 years ago. I fell in love with this area and cruising the Broads ever since. It’s tranquillity and beauty are infectious. There is so much for the outdoor enthusiast to do. Sailing, motor cruising, canoeing, walking, cycling, fishing, golfing and more all within easy reach of Catfield. I am passionate about cooking so can offer more than breakfast if required at an additional cost, cream teas, dinners with prior notice. The Ash has two rooms for our guests along side a private bathroom, all on the ground floor. We look forward to greeting you into our beautiful home soon.

We are perfectly situated in the village within 5 min walk to The Crown our local Pub and the Post office and shop. Bus routes from the end of the drive to Norwich and Great Yarmouth, enabling access to Wroxham Railway station. The Weavers Way is also on the doorstep. There are beautiful walks immediately after stepping out of the door, with river side walks only a 5 minute drive away. The top of the river Ant is 2 miles away at Sutton and Stalham, where Richardson's boat yard is located and there is access to hiring canoes and day boats a further mile away at Wayford Marina. Potter Heigham is also 2 miles in the opposite direction with Herbert Woods boat yard situated on the river Thurne, enabling you to hire more day boats for a leisurely sail up river to Hickling Broad or down river towards the Bure with St Benet's Abbey, Ranworth Broad, South Walsham Broad within easy reach.
