Across the water, the village of Newton Ferrers, may be reached on foot via causeways at low tide. A seasonal ferry also operates between Noss Mayo, Newton Ferrers and the South West Coast Path to Wembury. The surrounding South Hams area is known for its award-winning sandy beaches and the breath-taking beauty of the Dartmoor National Park.
