Canley has been transformed in recent years. It used to be a typical council estate but over the past 10 years, in line with the growth of the Univeristy of Warwick, the area has completely changed. From new housing developments to an increase of locals shops, and an expansion of Cannon Park shopping centre, a new state of the art leisure centre - called the Excel Leisure centre - the area has really changed for better. With a recent announcement that Coventry City Football Club, in conjunction with Warwick Uni, applied for planning permission to build a new stadium the growth of CV4 sets to continue.
