Welcome to our bit of Cotswold History & Charm - Pettifers & Sons dated back to 16th C , famous Vetinerary Apothecaries tending to the Cotswold valued livestock of yester-year - now our building house lovely hotel guests as a family owned Independent hotel run by local folk serving great local fare , offering some of the Best of Cotswold hospitality in our unpretentious and welcoming Country Hotel. A Bar, Bistro and Bedrooms , relaxing beer gardens , terrace and our Mayfield function room .Only 5 minutes by car from Kemble train station, and 15 minutes from junction 17 of the M4.

My wife & I are huge dog lovers ( all animals really, she's a Vets Daughter!!) and are very happy for Guests to bring along their beloved hounds - PLEASE do contact us before booking to ensure we have Dog Friendly rooms available, it cannot be guaranteed post booking .

We are situated in the an ideal location for visiting areas of interest. Malmesbury 'the oldest borough in England' with the 12th Century Abbey and the Abbey House Gardens,Tetbury with Highgrove House and Westonbirt Arboretum with it's new STIHL treetop walkway are all within 10 minutes drive from the hotel. We are on the west side of the fabulous Cotswold Water Park with its 140+ great lakes, SSSI reserves, coarse & fly fishing, bird watching, cycling , miles of footpaths alongside the Thames , horse riding , diving and the popular Keynes Country Park and Beach !!! Slightly further, but still close enough for a day out is Slimbridge wildlife reserve , Bath and shopping, Cheltenham , Stow-on-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water , Chipping Camden and much, much more!
