LAICH COTTAGE This was once the Gardener’s cottage and has its own private sunny garden with views to the hills and a garden table and chairs. It is a delightful cottage for a couple, but would also suit a family of up to 4 people, in the two bedrooms (a double and a twin). The sitting room has an adjoining fully equipped kitchen and is open plan. It has a wood burning stove, with logs provided. There is also bike storage, and an outer hall for coats etc. Free Wifi. Wood Fired Hot Tub! Tennis court and ping pong Pavillion too.
Fiona and Alasdair will be delighted to help you should you require and help or advice. There is also a comprehensive welcome folder and a box with things to do in and around the area. We also run the neighbouring Garden Nursery Plant Centre and the farm too!
Whichever way you drive, walk or go by boat, there is beautiful scenery in all directions. Oban, to the South, is 25 minutes away, where ferries leave for day trips to Mull & Iona, Coll, Tiree and Colonsay. Historically, a fishing town, you will find fishing boats in the harbour, boat trips to see seals and other wildlife, and some excellent fish shops and restaurants. There are other highlights such as Dunollie Castle, MacCaigs Tower, many good shops, cafes and restaurants and of course excellent fish & chips. Oban has our nearest whisky distillery and is the main shopping town. Fort William, to the North, sits at the foot of Ben Nevis. This is where you can catch the steam train on the West Highland Line over the “Harry Potter” viaduct at Glenfinnan, or you can drive the very scenic road to Mallaig past the Morar Sands. The Caledonian Canal,is also worth a walk, and amazing views can be had from the top of the Nevis Range cable car up the mountain next to Ben Nevis (Aonach Mor) for walking in the summer or skiing in the winter.
