The Hideaway Suite Holiday Home

A Hideaway Retreat offers accommodation in the St Johns area of Colchester, an 8-minute drive from Colchester Town Train Station and a short distance from local amenities. Rooms have garden views and guests are welcomed with tea and homemade cake on arrival. Free WiFi is available throughout.

Tea/coffee making facilities are provided, along with Egyptian cotton towels and a flat-screen TV, and all areas have free WiFi access. Each room has a bathroom with a walk-in shower, wash basin and toilet.

There is a fully equipped kitchenette/dining room with work surfaces and cupboards. A toaster is provided with an electric kettle, sink, refrigerator, microwave, slow cooker and a large dining table with four comfortable chairs. There is a separate entrance door leading to the garden and patio seating area.

Information about the host

We are a husband and wife team and our home has been modernised in such a way that guests have use as its own apartment within the bungalow, giving privacy and space, whilst still being very much our home. Guests have their own independant entrance/access door to the apartment which means there are no restrictions on access once guests have checked in and received keys. We can offer our guests a continental breakfast should they so wish, and use produce during the seasons from our garden and home made preserves,marmalades also. We vary the menu from time to time to always offer guests something "new". We have extensive interests ourselves and a wide knowledge of the area, being well travelled. we are always willing to offer our guests help and advice on places of interest, travel & road advice, we are on a direct bus route to the town centre and close to Dedham & Constable country and near the University also. We have extensive information for our guests to view during their stay on whats going on & places of interest for guests to read during their relaxing stay. Being on ground level with easy access and a large driveway for guests parking.

0ur neighbourhood has many walks with fields and wooded areas for walking. Highwoods country park is close to us that offers country walks around the Lake,Cycling about is easy & on direct bus service adjacent to town centre, which takes less than 10 minutes to town. (see all other details & map) We have a large supermarket close by and smaller shops and library & pharmacy, Bank with cashpoint, Tesco, Martins newsagent/ dry cleaners/hair dressers/ florist. all within walking distance. Being on the outskirts of the town is excellent as there are no parking permits or problems with parking at cost, yet very easy to travel around. Close to Constable country, Dedham/Flatford and the University all within easy reach.
