We provide a warm and friendly welcome to all of our guests, and ensure that your stay is a peaceful retreat that feels like an escape away from home, it is the perfect balance of bustling energy and quiet relaxation. Balsporran sits adjacent to the river Truim with its crystal clear snow fed waters, during the warmer months you can relax along the river banks with a glass of wine, a pot of tea or a good book. We also can help you with advice on everything the local area has to offer to make your stay with us a memorable one. In addition we can provide secure parking, bicycle lock up and drying facilities.
We have all our hobbies on our doorstep from mountain walks, skiing, running and cycling on the cycle path route 7. At Balsporran bed and breakfast we have set up our cosy kitchen creating a homely atmosphere overlooking the river and views of the Munro Mountains. After a day’s adventure it is a welcome treat to come in and warm yourself in front of the log fire and order a hot bowl of steamy soup and pot of tea. Every day we serve homemade soup with freshly baked bread or oatcakes in our kitchen using fresh ingredients. Barista Coffees, choice of tea’s and hot chocolate can be served with a selection of cakes, scones and biscuits.
Dalwhinnie lies at the head of Loch Etricht and is surrounded by magnificent mountains, Ben Alder is nearby and makes for a great walking experience with dramatic mountain scenery. Pop into Dalwhinnie Distillery which is home to the famous Dalwhinnie Single Malt Scotch and is part of the Diageo Range. Looking over the flat base of Glen Truim from the height of 1,154 ft above sea level, the distillery boasts the highest elevation for a working distillery in all of Scotland and provides a delightful Visitor Centre which offers tours with a wee dram all year round! Balsporran is located on the Perthshire / Inverness-shire border, four miles south of Dalwhinnie just 200 yards from the Sustran Cycle Route (no 7), perfectly placed for cyclists and walkers.
