However you wouldn’t guess that by looking at it because it has been tastefully designed and built to compliment its surroundings. Situated alongside a gentle stream that runs into the bay, number 26 has an unrivalled view of the village, a characterful red telephone box, and of course the pier and the sea. There’s history everywhere you look in Crovie. It’s a remarkable and unique place and one of the few villages in the UK that is inaccessible to vehicles. Now that may be off-putting to some, but in fact it gives the place a magical, old fashioned feel, especially when you’re transporting your bags in a wheelbarrow from the car along the seafront footpath to the cottage. Parking is only a couple of hundred yards away, either in the car park on the sea front or at a designated car park at the top of the hill.
